NHS England are offering vaccination against Respiratory Syncytial Virus to older adults and pregnant women. Leaflets are available at the surgery, and you can find out more about the virus and the vaccination here:

The vaccine is NON-LIVE and therefore cannot cause the person vaccinated to develop the infection, and immuno-suppressed patients can be vaccinated. We are not permitted to vaccinate individuals outside the stated eligible groups.

If you are aged 75 to 79, or your 80th birthday falls before 31st August 2025, you are eligible for this vaccination and will be invited to a vaccination clinic in September.  The vaccine is currently not given at the same time as flu or covid vaccination, so if you are not vaccinated by the time the Covid and flu campaign begins in October, you will be offered vaccination from December/ January. Pregnant patients will be offered vaccination as they become eligible.
